Move the Train Yard from Thorncliffe Park Petition Passes 10,000 Signatures

10,000 Petitioners for SaveTPARK.jpeg

While we continuously work on our mission to move the train yard from Thorncliffe Park, we are pleased to share that we have surpassed 10,000 signatures.  That is more than 10,000 local residents who agree that choosing Thorncliffe Park for a train yard is a biased and discriminatory decision. Thank you to everyone for your support to date, the politicians and Metrolinx did not believe we would achieve this milestone, but working together WE DID. There remains a significant amount of work to be done and we will need your help until the train yard is relocated.  It is possible.

Metrolinx has legitimate options to move the train yard to a less impactful location, but the 30,000 residents of Thorncliffe Park don’t have the luxury to move.

Here’s how YOU can help out today:

Email the Minister of Transportation Caroline Mulroney (minister.mto@ontario.ca) and Minister of Infrastructure Kinga Surma (kinga.surmaco@pc.ola.org) and state the following:

The government is entrusted to look out for ALL of the people of Ontario, especially marginalized communities. Over 10,000, mostly minority local residents have advocated against the train yard being placed in Thorncliffe Park – each of these voices should begin to matter to our elected officials.  Metrolinx has legitimate options to move the train yard to a less impactful location, but the 30,000 residents of Thorncliffe Park don’t have the luxury to move.
